Information We Collect

We follow a principle of minimal data collection. Here is exactly what we collect and why:

• •Account information: If you choose to create an account, we collect your email address and display name through Firebase Authentication. This is used solely for login and identifying your saved preferences.
• •Favorites and dashboards: When signed in, your favorite tools and dashboard configurations are stored in Firebase Firestore so you can access them from any device.
• •Local preferences: Language, theme, and currency preferences are stored in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any server.
• •Tool data: All files and data you process with our tools (PDFs, images, JSON, audio, etc.) are processed entirely within your browser using WebAssembly. We have no access to this data and it is never uploaded anywhere. For AI-powered tools, document text may be sent to Google's Generative AI API for processing — this is clearly indicated on those specific tool pages.

Cookies and Tracking

We use a limited number of cookies, each serving a specific purpose:

• •Authentication cookies: Firebase sets session cookies when you sign in to maintain your login state securely.
• •Advertising cookies: Google AdSense may place cookies to serve relevant advertisements. You can control ad personalization through Google's Ad Settings (adssettings.google.com).
• •We do not deploy any first-party tracking, fingerprinting, or analytics cookies. We do not use Google Analytics or any similar behavioral tracking service.

Third-Party Services

We integrate with the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• •Firebase (Google): Provides authentication and cloud database services. Your email and preferences are stored on Google Cloud infrastructure under Google's privacy commitments.
• •Google AdSense: Displays advertisements on our site. Google may collect browsing data for ad targeting purposes, subject to Google's advertising policies.
• •Google Generative AI: Used exclusively by AI-powered tools (PDF Summarizer, Background Remover, etc.). Document text or images are sent to Google's API for processing and are subject to Google's AI data usage policies.

Data Security

Security is built into our architecture. Tool processing runs locally in your browser using WebAssembly, meaning your files never traverse a network. For the small amount of account data we do store, Firebase provides enterprise-grade security including encryption at rest and in transit, regular security audits, and SOC 2 compliance.

Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

• •Access: You can view all personal data associated with your account from the Dashboard page.
• •Deletion: You can delete your account at any time, which permanently removes all stored data including favorites and preferences.
• •Ad preferences: You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google's Ad Settings at any time.
• •No account required: The vast majority of our tools work without signing in. Creating an account is entirely optional.

Children's Privacy

Free2Box is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

We may revise this Privacy Policy as our services evolve. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
